Details of LPN Training
The LPN programs in Washington state must be approved by the Washington State Department of Health. For admission, these programs require you to be at least 18 years of age, and possess a high school diploma. But since the competition tough, so applicants with higher grades are given more preference. You might also need to undergo entrance tests such as, Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). They take around 1 year for their completion and cover both classroom training and clinical practices.
Exam fee
The National Council Licensure Examination- Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) is the final step in receiving the LPN license. An application fee of $87 along with a nursing center surcharge of $5 is to be given to the Washington State Department of Health. The criminal history check also needs to be passed. Online registration with Pearson Vue accompanied by a fee of $200, for the examination is also required. After passing the licensure examination, you become eligible to work as an LPN. It is to be noted that the LPN license should be renewed annually on the birth date with a renewal fee of $96 (including nursing center surcharge).
Washington is not a part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). But, if the applicants wish to practice in WA, they may apply for endorsement with an application fee of $92 for LPN programs in Washington state.
