Exam Fee
On the fulfillment of the LPN training, you need to pass the National Council Licensing Examination-Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) examination to obtain your license and to have a good job. A $200 registration fee should be paid to Pearson Vue. A fee of $143, including $93 application fee and $50 fingerprint fee, is to be submitted to the Iowa Board of Nursing. The exam covers 4 major areas: health improvement and upkeep, care environment, psychological and psychosocial well being. After successfully passing the exam, you receive the LPN license. It must be noted that the license should be renewed 30 days prior to its expiration date.
Iowa is a member of the Nursing Licensure Compact, a mutual recognition allowing the nurses to have license of their state and to practice in a different state. Also the applications for endorsement by those who hold an authentic active LPN license are also accepted by Iowa.
